With the will, persistence, teamwork and spirit of one team, a new year of the same years of empowerment has taken place in the past ten years, during which our strength and love increased and we slicked to our goals. We aim to contribute to empowering the Palestinian society and help its members to achieve psychological and social adaptation. Accordingly, they can build a good mental health and be empowered to live safety within a community environment that enables, facilitates and supports creativity.  Nafs for Empowerment has proven to be play a crucial part of helping the Palestinian society. It effectively participated in a community and youth  movement even outside Palestine. It reached Palestinian, Arab and international institutions to reflect on the notion and content of the institution’s work and to strengthen it within the civil society institutions at Palestine and abroad. We have many supporters, advocates and volunteers in various cities, villages, and camps in Palestine.

Finally, the Nafs Society for Empowerment strives to continuously develop its working methods, and seeks to provide positive working conditions to all of its members from the Board of Directors, The Executive Staff and volunteers, and the unknown soldiers who have been translating the strategic goals of the association into a reality.

Every three years, we have a fair and transparent elections for our council members and administration to give the full confidence for the elected to be active members within the structure of the institution. We introduce you the members of the Board of Directors of Nafs for Empowerment 16/2/2019 to 16/2/2022:

Dr. Ibrahim Mousa serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Directors at Nafs for Empowerment, bringing with him a distinguished academic and community background. He holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD in Arabic Language, and currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Birzeit University

Beyond his academic leadership, Dr. Mousa is a writer and author of numerous books, novels, and cultural articles, contributing to the enrichment of social awareness and the preservation of cultural identity

Dr. Mousa believes that the mission of Nafs for Empowerment stems from the conviction that psychosocial support is a cornerstone for building balanced individuals and cohesive communities, and that culture and awareness are vital pathways to both individual and collective empowerment

Mr. Waleed Marrouh serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board at Nafs for Empowerment, bringing with him both academic knowledge and extensive professional expertise. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from An-Najah National University and has accumulated significant experience through his leadership roles in the Accident Departments of major national insurance companies, most recently with Trust Insurance

Beyond his professional career, Waleed is recognized as an active community leader, particularly in youth engagement, where he has contributed to initiatives that foster awareness, resilience, and personal growth. He has also completed advanced training programs in psychological counseling and team management, qualifying him as a specialized trainer who bridges theory with hands-on practice

Through his role at Nafs for Empowerment, Waleed advocates for the crucial role of psychosocial empowerment for youth as a foundation for unleashing their potential and building a more cohesive and resilient society

Dr. Sahab Nairat serves as the Board Secretary at Nafs for Empowerment, bringing a solid academic and professional background in psychology and education. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology and a Master’s degree in Mental and Community Health, and currently works as an Assistant Professor at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, Ramallah branch

Her career also includes significant leadership experience, having previously served as Head of the Student Affairs Department at Kadoorie University, where she contributed to enhancing student services and campus life. In addition, Dr. Nairat is a certified trainer in mental health, stress management, and life skills, collaborating with numerous educational and community organizations to deliver impactful training programs

Recognized as an active advocate in the fields of education and mental health, Dr. Nairat has partnered with several institutions on initiatives designed to empower individuals and strengthen their psychosocial well-being. Through her role at Nafs for Empowerment, she envisions a future where conscious education and psychological support are central to building a generation that is more resilient, aware, and capable of navigating life’s challenges

Dr. Abdulaziz Bani Odeh serves as the Treasurer at Nafs for Empowerment. He holds a Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Algiers and has extensive experience in youth and community work. Actively engaged as a member and volunteer in various community organizations in Palestine, he believes that youth empowerment and civic participation are key drivers of sustainable development

Mr. Mohammad Dawood Mahajneh Board Member at Nafs for Empowerment. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Birzeit University and a Diploma in Social Work from Bethlehem University

He manages the YMCA branch in Jenin and possesses extensive experience in training, psychological counseling, and youth engagement, focusing on community participation and youth capacity building

Mr. Eyad Ldadwa, Board Member at Nafs for Empowerment, holds a Master’s degree in Community Psychology from Birzeit University

He serves as the Head of the Syndicate of Social and Psychological Specialists in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and as Central Supervisor of Special Education at the Ministry of Higher Education. With extensive experience as a trainer in special education, autism, inclusive learning, and mental health, he advocates for inclusive education and psychosocial support as foundations of a fair and equitable society

Mr. Mohammad Al-Batta serves as a Board Member at Nafs for Empowerment. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has extensive experience as a former General Manager of the Prisoner Rehabilitation Program

He has also completed intensive training in strategic planning, youth engagement, and middle management at the international level. Additionally, he is a specialized trainer in International Alternatives to Violence programs and psychological counseling, contributing to youth empowerment and community support initiatives

Eleni Mustaklem is the Public Relations and Resource Development Officer of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, as well as a Contrabass player and music trainer. She is an active member of several local and international cultural and social justice organizations, deeming it her responsibility in preserving Palestinian culture and advancing the Palestinian cause. She is a graduate of the Gender Studies and Development MA program at Birzeit University, and as a BA graduate of the English Literature and Language program with a minor in Translation from the same university, she enjoys translating documents and media believing in the importance of making knowledge accessible without barriers
