Nafs for Empowerment and Frontline Organize a Community Dialogue on the State of Education and Psychosocial Support in Gaza
In light of the escalating humanitarian challenges facing the Gaza Strip, Nafs for Empowerment organized a community dialogue in partnership with Frontline, bringing together representatives from educational, psychological, and social institutions, alongside a distinguished group of specialists and experts in the fields of education and mental health.
The dialogue provided a platform for discussion and exchange of perspectives on the realities faced by children and families amid the ongoing war and displacement, and the resulting increase in learning loss, psychological distress, and social challenges. Participants also explored the factors affecting children’s ability to learn, adapt, and maintain a sense of safety and stability.
The participants discussed the most pressing needs and challenges facing children at this critical stage, emphasizing the importance of developing integrated responses that address educational, psychological, and social dimensions, while helping to mitigate the negative impact of the prolonged crisis on children and their families.
This community dialogue was held as part of ongoing efforts to develop integrated approaches and methodologies that combine education and psychosocial support in ways that respond to the needs of children in Gaza and reflect the complexities of the current humanitarian context. The meeting also sought to strengthen dialogue and knowledge exchange among actors working in the education, mental health, and community sectors, with the aim of shaping more comprehensive and effective responses that support children and empower them to continue learning, adapting, and building resilience under these exceptional circumstances.
