As part of the Enhancing Community Resilience and Protection Project – SUMUD, psychosocial support sessions were implemented for caregivers at the Village Council – Iktaba in partnership with Karam Association for Combating Extreme Poverty. The sessions aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of psychological stress and overthinking while equipping them with practical coping strategies to strengthen psychological resilience.
The sessions included interactive activities and group discussions that created a safe space for participants to express their emotions and personal experiences. Relaxation exercises and thought-detachment techniques were also implemented to help participants manage stress and reduce overthinking. In addition, the sessions encouraged the exchange of experiences and psychosocial support among participants, fostering a stronger sense of safety, belonging, and mutual support within the group.
Participants demonstrated positive engagement throughout the activities, and the sessions contributed to raising awareness of healthy coping strategies, encouraging self-care practices, and promoting the regular use of relaxation techniques to better manage daily pressures with greater confidence and awareness.
