Starting from its vision of building an aware individual capable of contributing to a more cohesive and humane society, Nafs for Empowerment organized an interactive workshop for adolescents on human values and social communication skills, in cooperation with the Al-Jeeb Women’s Center.
The workshop aimed to enhance adolescents’ awareness of the importance of human values in their daily lives and to strengthen their social communication skills in ways that support healthy relationships based on mutual respect and understanding. It also sought to create a safe and supportive space for dialogue and expression, allowing participants to share their thoughts, experiences, and perspectives while learning from one another.
The session included a range of interactive activities and group exercises designed to encourage reflection on key values such as responsibility, cooperation, acceptance of others, and the rejection of violence. Through these activities, participants practiced essential communication skills, including active listening, expressing opinions respectfully, and engaging in constructive dialogue.
Participants showed strong engagement throughout the workshop, with discussions and participatory exercises helping deepen their understanding of the role that human values play in building cohesive communities. The activities also encouraged adolescents to reflect on their own role in promoting positive communication and respectful interactions within their families, schools, and social environments.
This workshop is part of the ongoing efforts of Nafs for Empowerment to support adolescents and promote their psychological and social well-being. Through such initiatives, the organization seeks to equip young people with essential life skills, empowering them to become active members of their communities and advocates of human values that contribute to building a more just, supportive, and compassionate future.
