Nafs for Empowerment implemented an art-based psychosocial support workshop for elderly participants at the Birzeit Elderly Club (Father Anton Bozo Center). The session was facilitated by Mr. Nasser Matar, Director of the organization, as part of Nafs’ community initiatives aimed at promoting mental well-being among older adults.
The workshop included a range of artistic and practical activities that used creative stress-relief approaches, including attentive listening, visual and auditory communication, as well as the use of balloons, movement exercises, and parachute activities as expressive tools to help participants share their emotions and interact with one another.
The session witnessed positive engagement from the elderly participants, who actively took part in the activities. The workshop contributed to enhancing positive energy, relieving psychological stress, and strengthening feelings of comfort, harmony, and social connection within a supportive and safe environment.
At the end of the workshop, participants and the club’s administration expressed their appreciation for Nafs for Empowerment for organizing the activity and its positive impact on the psychosocial well-being of the elderly.
The Birzeit Elderly Club also extended its thanks to Abu Al-Joud Sweets – Abu Qash for kindly providing sweets during the gathering, a thoughtful gesture that brought joy and warmth to the participants.
