Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Prevention Program – Psychosocial Support

On Thursday, November 24, 2025, the Nafas for Empowerment team implemented the tenth (final) session of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Prevention Program  Psychosocial Support at Al-Jeeb Women’s Center, with the participation of 23 adolescents aged 12–15 years.

This session marked the conclusion of a series of interventions aimed at strengthening adolescents’ mental well-being and enhancing positive coping skills. During the final session, participants were provided with a safe space to reflect on their needs, discuss challenges within their surrounding environment, and propose practical ideas for improvement.

Building on outcomes from previous sessions, participants expressed their desire to improve the association’s entrance due to its direct impact on service quality and accessibility for beneficiaries. In response, the adolescents launched a community-led initiative that included painting activities, organizing and improving the surrounding area, constructing a protective fence, and providing a water cooler.

The initiative demonstrated a strong sense of awareness, responsibility, and community engagement among the adolescents, highlighting their ability to translate psychosocial support into tangible positive action that serves the local community and enhances a safe environment for children.

Through this program, Nafas for Empowerment reaffirms its commitment to empowering adolescents not only by providing psychosocial support, but by fostering their role as active partners in creating positive and sustainable change within their communities.
