As part of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Prevention Program, Nafs for Empowerment implemented a community-based initiative at Aqaba Youth Club, targeting a group of adolescents and aiming to strengthen their role as active and engaged members of their local community through psychosocial support activities.
The initiative included an interactive session with the participants, focusing on the importance of youth participation in creating positive change, and promoting values of belonging, responsibility, and teamwork. Participants were given space to engage and express themselves, which contributed to increased self-confidence and a sense of appreciation.
In addition, the initiative supported Aqaba Youth Club by providing official team uniforms suitable for different age groups, along with essential sports equipment, including footballs and goalkeeper gloves. This support aimed to enhance team spirit and ensure the sustainability of sports activities within the club.
This initiative represents a qualitative step toward creating a safe and supportive environment for adolescents. Participants demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm and commitment, which was reflected in their positive interaction and growing sense of social responsibility.
These efforts align with Nafs for Empowerment’s ongoing commitment to delivering integrated psychosocial interventions that combine mental health support with community based activities, strengthening adolescents’ resilience and reinforcing their positive presence within their communities.
