Nafas for Empowerment × Americares
A Partnership Creating Safe and Supportive Spaces for Children in Southern Gaza
As part of the ongoing partnership between Nafas for Empowerment and Americares, the Nafas team continues to implement psychosocial support activities for children across four key locations: Al-Amal Camp, Al-Yasmeen Camp, Al-Amal Rehabilitation School in Khan Younis, and Al-Salam Camp – Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis.
These activities respond to the urgent need for safe spaces that restore moments of joy and reassurance for children living under difficult humanitarian conditions.
A Comprehensive Support Program for Children
Over the past weeks, the Nafas team has delivered a series of recreational and activation sessions for children aged 3 to 11, including physical, social, emotional, and musical activities designed to:
-Strengthen communication and expression skills
-Enhance feelings of safety and belonging
-Support emotional regulation through group play and interaction

Social-Emotional Learning Exercises
-Five Senses: to enhance sensory awareness and focus
-The Best Thing in Life: promoting positive thinking
-Love Love: building safe and supportive social connections
Group and Physical Games
Horse game, Sun and Moon, Moves 1–5, Musical Chairs, the Parachute, sound rhythm activities, national songs, and energetic music that contributed to a lively and interactive atmosphere for the children.
Impact of the Partnership on the Ground
-286 children participated across the four locations.
-Inclusive integration of 12 deaf children supported by a specialized instructor to ensure full participation.
-Community engagement through the attendance of 30 parents in Al-Salam Camp, actively supporting their children.
-Activities continued successfully despite logistical and field challenges, thanks to strong team coordination and consistent partner support.
