Amid the challenging conditions experienced by children in Gaza’s displacement camps, Nafs for Empowerment has continued its efforts to provide safe, uplifting spaces through a series of psychosocial and recreational activities aimed at restoring joy and emotional security for affected children.

Over the past days, the organization’s teams carried out engaging sessions in the camps of Rafah, Al-Nuseirat, and Khan Younis. The activities focused on movement, group play, emotional expression, and traditional Palestinian songs—elements that brought energy and connection back into the children’s daily lives.

Children participated enthusiastically, responding positively to activities designed to support their emotional well-being and strengthen their social skills.

A notable aspect of these sessions was the inclusion of children with disabilities in all activities, ensuring a supportive and equitable environment. The presence of several parents also contributed to a warm and reassuring atmosphere, reinforcing the children’s sense of community and safety.

One of the most touching moments came in the words of a child who said:
“Please come entertain us more… the last time we had activities was two months ago.”
A simple sentence that reflects a profound psychological need and reinforces the necessity of ongoing support.

Among the inspiring stories that emerged was that of Rimas Hijazi (16 years old), who began as a participant and soon joined the team as a facilitator within her camp. Her creativity and confidence stood out, demonstrating the transformative impact of empowering youth and giving them meaningful opportunities.

Nafs for Empowerment reaffirms its commitment to providing safe, nurturing spaces where children can play, express themselves, and rebuild their emotional resilience because joy is not a luxury, but an essential part of healing for the children of Palestine.
